School Counselling Support

As an integral part of the pastoral pillar, our School Counselling Team supports the social, emotional, and personal development of students from Reception through Sixth Form, helping them build the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.

Individual Counselling Support

Short-term, solution-focused support is available for students experiencing challenges such as anxiety, stress, friendship difficulties, family transitions, emotional concerns, or academic pressures. Counselling provides a safe space for students to explore challenges, develop coping strategies, and strengthen social-emotional skills.

Support through Challenging Times

Immediate support is available for students experiencing significant life events or unexpected challenges, including bereavement, family crises, or traumatic experiences. Counsellors work closely with families the pastoral team and staff to ensure appropriate care and support are in place.

The Zen Den

The Zen Den is Warwick Academy’s dedicated wellbeing space for Secondary students—a calm environment where students can pause, regulate, and reset during the school day. Staffed by the School Counselling Team, it offers self-regulation tools, mindfulness activities, sensory resources, and coping strategies to help students build resilience, manage emotions, and return to learning feeling calm, focused, and ready to succeed.

Consultation and Collaboration

Supporting student wellbeing is a shared responsibility. School counsellors work closely with parents, teachers, administrators, and external professionals to develop strategies that support student success. When concerns extend beyond the scope of school-based counselling, families may be encouraged to access additional community or mental health services.

To ensure a holistic understanding of a student’s needs, we place high importance on collaboration with external providers and encourage the sharing of relevant school-based observations and insights during assessment and treatment processes. This partnership helps ensure that recommendations are well-informed by the student’s functioning at home and at school.

If you have questions about the School Counselling Programme or would like to discuss support for your child, please contact one of our school counsellors. We welcome the opportunity to partner with you in supporting your child's wellbeing and success.
