Warwick Academy

Our two full-time School Counsellors work across both Primary and Secondary sections of the school. These whole school roles allow students to receive support from familiar faces as they transition through the different stages of their academic life at Warwick Academy. Our counsellors offer short-term counselling in one-on-one and group settings by creating a safe, empathetic and nurturing environment. Our counselling style is an eclectic mix of collaborative problem-solving and the use of expressive therapies; such as art, movement, experiential, and play.

In May 2022 we joined the international recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month. Students participated in a variety of activities where they were able to share the importance of mental health through music, writing, art, conversations. Mental Health Awareness Month is now a yearly event staff and students look forward to acknowledging and supporting.

Keep an eye out for our monthly “Just Be” school counselling parent newsletter; which is our way of hopefully bringing important well-being resources to our Warwick Family. The content is created with the mindset of encouragement and staying in the moment. No matter what the moment is. Being present can be a starting point for the exploration of being mindful and enjoying today.
