The Warwick Academy Parent Teacher Association
The Warwick Academy Parent Teacher Association (WAPTA) is an organization of parents, teachers, alumni, staff, relatives and interested parties with the common goal of encouraging, promoting and supporting efforts of the students and programs of the school.
WAPTA is a fund-raising committee that plays an instrumental role in providing supplies and educational support to Warwick Academy. Each year WAPTA raises funds to support a wide range of school initiatives. WAPTA has raised money for instructional technology, books, playground and gymnastic equipment and classroom enhancements for our children.
In addition to its fundraising undertakings, the WAPTA President has a seat on the school’s Board of Governors.
The Constitution of WAPTA describes in detail that the purposes and functions of the organization will be:
- To encourage and further communication and co-operation between home, school and alumni through our various fundraising events;
- To communicate to members information about the school;
- To raise funds for special programmes, resources and projects and
- To promote, encourage and support efforts to maintain and further the education and well being of the students, teachers and parents.

WAPTA CORDIALLY INVITES YOU TO A WINE TASTING EVENT ON SATURDAY, 25TH MARCH, 2017 AT THE MCCORKELL COMMONS/IB CENTRE TIME: 7:00PM. INCLUDES A SELECTION OF FOOD. TICKETS @ $50 PER PERSON. TICKETS AVAILABLE AT WARWICK ACADEMY MAIN OFFICE.
This year's raffle is underway and our goal is to beat last year's gross sales of $90,000. We, therefore, would like to encourage every student to sell their allotted tickets or more. We have made a change to the ticket price. The tickets are $10 and each student will receive 10 tickets. Enclosed please find these tickets.
This year we are excited to have a car as our top prize. It is a Kia Picanto from Bermuda Motors. We also have over 70 amazing prizes which include an air conditioning split system, a ½ day fishing charter, a home security system, a family portrait session, an aerial tour of Bermuda, hotel stays, various retail store certificates and gift baskets, lunch and dinner vouchers and many more!

WAPTA are hosting a Bingo Night on Saturday 21st January 2017 from 6-9pm in the PPMH.

Reserve your Bingo cards, chili and pizza by sending in the completed form below - spaces are limited this year so don't wait! Please return your form and payment (cheques made payable to WAPTA) in an envelope marked WAPTA Bingo Night : attention Sarah Oatley, no later than Monday, 16th January 2017. Doors will open at 5.45pm. Additional slices of pizza, drinks, water, desserts, snacks and chili will be available to purchase at the event. Pizza $6 per slice, drinks $2, snacks/desserts $1 and $2
For those interested in purchasing a Christmas tree (if you haven't already done so), this is your chance to support WAPTA.
The Cutoff date is Thursday, 10 November; however, pre-sales will end when the 200 trees have all been sold. Delivery is an additional $20 per order & available island wide. Tentative collection/delivery dates are Thursday, 1 December - Saturday, 3 December.
